I always knew of the challenge of cycling the length of Britain. It really became a must-do challenge when I started to think about how little is being done to protect our most precious national parks.I grew up escaping for adventure in nature, enjoying the stillness and beauty; it is my place of meditation. I am not only inspired by the sheer beauty of our parks in the UK but by the rich diversity of our nation’s landscape and wildlife. I hope by campaigning we can help future generations understand have the opportunity to experience true British countryside that we are so lucky to have. We are building on these parks at an alarming rate and once they’re gone, they’re gone!I started to think that a documentary discussing the concerns (disappearing land, damage to habitats, tourism) regarding the UK’s National Parks in the context of an exciting test of human endurance may spark some awareness on what is happening to our national parks and educate our audience on how one can get involved in protecting them. I asked 4 others and they all aligned with the same values, which is why we’re here today. We are called Blokes on Spokes - blokesonspokes.co.uk
