Chris’ 15+ year career has largely revolved around post production. Having been a part of everystep of the process, from DIT right through to Colourist and Finishing Editor. Chris’ broadcast experience started at ITV’s Emmerdale, months after leaving University where he started as an Edit Assistant. His role quickly developed into being the show’s Online Editor, and then progressing again into one of the show’s Colourist’s, utilising a Baselight system since 2016; and becoming one of only a handful of people within ITV to know how to operate Baselight.

On top of Baselight, Chris has also used DaVinci Resolve since 2021, using it for dailies for feature films, and colouring numerous smaller projects and short films. Chris now has his own home setup of Resolve which he uses for freelance work and for the short films he makes as part of ‘Knock and Nash’; as both the DP and the Colourist/Finishing Editor.

Outside of post production, Chris is also a skilled Photographer, Timelapse Artist and CameraOperator/DP, having photographed several projects for ‘product’ clients, and having lit and shot several short films. This blend of skills means Chris is capable of not only considering postproduction workflows, but also how the filming process will impact the whole project. Alongside Chris’ focus on efficiency for all of his work, this always ensures the best possible outcome being achieved for minimal time and cost. Chris has also guest lectured at Salford University, primarily a module of the MA Post Production course, but also on a short term basis for other courses.
