A British-Iranian multimedia journalist with extensive experience in long-form current affairs and documentaries. I have fronted a range of stories from across the world, for the BBC, Channel 4's Unreported World and a number of other international broadcasters.A lot of my work has often been from within hostile environments, with a special focus on under-reported human-interest stories. I strive for high-impact storytelling, and have reported on a diverse range of topics from conflict and human rights abuses, to gender and mental health issues, and excel in exploring sensitive subjects with empathy, creativity and journalistic rigour.Born in Iran, I fled the country with my sister and mother in order to escape political persecution. Thereafter I spent a significant part of my formative years as a refugee. Being smuggled across the world, living in various refugee camps and, at times, sleeping rough were a regular part of my childhood.
