Hi, I’m Zainab Boladale, a 25-year-old media professional here in Ireland.I was born in Lagos, Nigeria and raised in Co. Clare.I spent my childhood nestled between two cultures, both of which shaped my understanding of people, culture and history... aspects which would later inspire me to choose to study Journalism upon leaving school.At 17 years old, I moved to Dublin to study Journalism at DCU. During my time there, I wrote for several Irish publications, E.g. The Irish Independent, The Clare People, The College View, Campus.ie, Oxygen.ie and A Lust for Life.This allowed me to have a layered portfolio that would jump-start my media career.In 2017, I made my TV debut as a Presenter on RTÉ's children's programme, news2day. On news2day, I presented stories from around the world to the young people of Ireland.Over the years in RTÉ, I’ve been developing my love of feature storytelling, this allowed me to bring my skills to Ireland’s longstanding factual features programme, Nationwide.Working on the programme since 2019, I’ve been bringing Irish viewers personal stories of resilience, highlighting talented young Irish people and showcasing events from around the country.My strength as a Journalist is my ability to connect with people and make them feel comfortable enough to share their important moments, views and emotions. Being on the road means I get to discover new surroundings and see more of the world outside my doorstep.
