Born and raised in Tucson, AZ, Gary Sundt is a director, writer and producer currently living and working in Los Angeles, CA. As his mother tells it, Gary first caught the "movie bug" when he first saw King Kong as a six-year-old, debating at-length for hours afterward as to the human cruelty and illogic of bringing the giant ape to New York City against his will. In the years to come, he proceeded to watch the same VHS with enough frequency that tape eventually burned out. Outside of his own projects, he most recently worked as a creative executive to director Adam Wingard (The Guest, You're Next) and his shingle, Montauk Chair Productions, as well as serving as his assistant on the upcoming "Godzilla vs Kong" for Legendary Entertainment and Death Note for Netflix. His other industry experience includes working as a staff writer on the digital series The Playboy Anti-Viral Show for Playboy Enterprises, Inc.; a Writers’ Assistant on the TV series The Goldbergs for Sony Pictures Entertainment, the TV series Superstore for NBCUniversal Media, LLC, and assisting writer Justin Spitzer (The Office, Scrubs) both in development and on FOX’s Mulaney.
