I most recently worked with Tom on a documentary series for SkyHistory, where he came in last minute to make a start on the first episode of a new series. As always Tom was ahead of the game - making sure he was well prepared to work from home from a standing start and he fitted in with everyone on the team immediately. I first met Tom at Discovery Education and worked with him for three years on numerous short current affairs and history features: from biographies on Captain Cook and Queen Victoria to difficult news stories such as the terror attack at a pop concert in Manchester. I've also worked with Tom on some short commencial films. Whatever the subject, Tom always shows a genuine interest and enthusiasm. He demonstrates incredible attention to detail and takes a real pride in everything he does. On top of that he is always ready to help colleagues and fellow editors with technical queries and problems. He is calm, kind, supportive and cheerful - exactly the kind of person you want, when you are under pressure in an edit!
