I recently directed an hour long talent fronted doc about young, black right wingers for Channel 4 and my directorial debut, 'Queens of Rap' was nominated for a BAFTA. I have done a two year stint on Police Custody shooting across multiple episodes and PD-ing an ep. I'm an experienced producer/journalist having filmed primarily in sensitive hard-to-reach access docs with strong current affairs sensibilities. I have a reputation for negotiating and maintaining access and with a solid journalistic approach I make docs with a strong compelling narrative arc that are engaging but complex often dealing with taboo issues. I am adept at casting on location, with a proven track record of working with vulnerable contributors who are suffering from trauma, mental health and victims of sexual assault. I am equally at ease working with big talent and I'm a skilled and experienced interviewer gaining people's trust and getting the very best out of them. I've worked on a broad range of programmes from Arts to Specialist Factual to ground breaking Observational docs. I regularly pitch stories from communities that are under represented and try to show them in a fair and accurate light. As well as being across consent and compliance/legal issues I am able to develop and produce stories in factual and observational documentaries on quick turnaround scenarios as well as long form documentaries. I can shoot on a C300 (preferable) and FS7, Hostile Environment training complete with a 5 year US iVISA. I have worked many different roles within the industry from AP, producer, presenter, reporter (including undercover), to hosting my own radio show and I am 1/2 of the award winning podcast for Brown Girls Do It Too but my real passion lies is in directing where I want to build on my credits and therefore I am only looking for PD roles.
