Hi there, I’m Alizée – a script editor, writer, and translator working internationally in French and English. Based in London, I develop films and TV projects with emerging and established talents in live-action and animation. Particularly interested in independent cinema, I work across various genres, including drama, thrillers, historical drama, sci-fi, and fantasy.

To tell you a bit more about myself, I grew up between France and the Netherlands, and later moved between the UK and Czechia to study film production at the Arts University Bournemouth and FAMU. After graduating from an MA in Cultural Entrepreneurship at Goldsmiths University, I started working in development as a reader. I went on to work on various projects with independent production companies and studios such as Ardimages, Entertainment One, Amazon Studio, Ubisoft, and Walt Disney as a freelancer. An alumna of the MIDPOINT Feature Launch and the TorinoFilmLab Extended script consulting labs, I also mentor writers through labs and residencies such as IFFR’s Boost NL, Screen Yorkshire’s FLEX Storytelling, and DYSPLA’s Storymaker Residency.

What I love most about development is seeing ideas grow into stories and helping writers nurture their creative process. My approach combines written notes and in-depth discussions with writers to uncover the core of a story, often hidden within a script or treatment in the early stages of development. It’s a privilege to witness those Eureka moments when writers are bubbling with ideas and just want to run away from the development room to write!

Outside the script development world, I also write fiction, and I’m currently working on my first novel. In 2016, one of my short stories was long-listed for the Borders – Penguin Random House Competition. When not writing or developing ideas, you will most likely find me travelling or learning foreign languages.
