I am a researcher and aspiring writer with experience in documentary film. I have worked across subjects ranging from refugees and asylum seekers, climate change and finance. I am interested in moving into broadcast documentaries and all factual content.From 2014 I trained and worked as a politics and culture journalist in Australia before relocating to the UK in 2017 to study a postgraduate degree in literature at UCL.After a brief stint working as a journalist in London, I embarked on a career in film and television. My first short feature documentary titled Getting Across was released in 2021 and is currently being shown on the international film circuit. The film is about asylum seekers attempting to reach and settle in the UK in the turbulent year of 2020. It involved extensive research and casting to find appropriate experts and characters. I interviewed all the film subjects personally, wrote the script and assisted with the edit. The film won best short documentary at the Cotswold International Film Festival and is in consideration for more festivals while available to view at www.gettingacrossfilm.co.ukI have very diverse interests; history, politics, books, culture, travel and people. I'm constantly searching for new ideas in the things I read and the stories I hear from people.
