With 15 years experience in unscripted television production including factual, entertainment, and constructed documentary genres, I am a seasoned casting producer, edit producer and series producer.
Originally from the West Midlands and now living in Bristol, I am enthusiastic and hard working with a commitment to creating engaging content.
My skills lie in confidently and successfully managing teams, building strong working relationships with contributors, on-screen talent and my colleagues. I have a natural interest in people, I’m passionate about bringing out authentic stories that resonate with audiences and I have a knack for finding and nurturing compelling narratives. I am an avid viewer of entertainment, documentary and reality TV genres, and I find true excitement in casting contributors who I believe will engage viewers in the way that I am engaged when watching programmes.
I am committed to ensuring the continued welfare of everyone involved in programme making and I have completed training with Screen Skills and joined discussions run by the BBC Welfare hub to develop my knowledge and skills in this area. I am actively looking for more training in this area. I have experience of casting contributors dealing with sensitive subjects and managing ongoing relationships with those contributors with care, compassion and a professional attitude. As the Series Producer of fixed rig medical series Skin A&E on Channel 5, I played a key role in setting out the Duty of Care protocols for the series which were then used as a basis for other productions at the company.
Alongside my casting and edit experience, I have extensive experience producing on location, conducting interviews with adults and children, working in the gallery for fixed-rig series and working closely with on screen talent. My career is highlighted by casting contributors and edit producing on award-winning series The Dog House for Channel 4, which earned an RTS award and has also been BAFTA and Grierson Award nominated, as well as award winning series DIY SOS: The Big Build.
I bring a broad range of experience to a production. I have worked on programmes for Channel 4, Channel 5, ITV and the BBC and I have been lucky to gain experience working on programmes which cover a wide range of topics from medical series, home renovation, food programming, competition formats, game show, children’s entertainment and holiday shows to name a few.
I am currently looking for roles in Casting, Edit Producing, Welfare Producing and Series Producing.
I would be happy to answer any questions you have about my experience. Thank you for reading.
