I am integral in coordinating the end-to-end process of a title by editing treatments, pitching new titles at content briefings, discussing budgets and financial implications, generating highly confidential contracts, researching international TV trends, owning various tracking systems, multiple global diaries and coordinating the largest international BBC distribution event: ‘Showcase 2021’. Outside of my substantive role, I volunteer with TalentWorks which discovers diverse talent for placements at partnered indies. I am part of the BBC Creative Writing Society where we share script ideas for developmental feedback and attend extended workshops, most recently Sketch Comedy with Tracey Ullman Show Writer, Gemma Arrowsmith to sustain my creative contribution to work.
My organisational skills were particularly tested in my previous role in Broadcast Operations at ITV where I handled hundreds of TX files daily to create the final TX schedule. In an environment which does not allow for any margin of error due to the significant cost impact, my ability to plan and structure communications ensured successful, timely execution. Similarly, as Marketing Executive & Sales Support at ITPM Consulting my role ensured the smooth operation of fast-paced, global business by coordinating projects across diverse schedules, markets, and cultures. After swiftly being promoted to Executive, my role included editing pitch documents for technology migration, creating slide-decks for internal and external presentations and leading the execution of UK email marketing campaigns.
My PR Internship set the foundations of my media knowledge, researching into current audiences, trends, public interest in wider society. Demonstrating my creativity and impeccable written communication, I liaised with Press, Bloggers and Journalists and created press releases - my summer edition landing a double page spread in a magazine.
My ability to produce focused, creative work is evidenced by my English and Drama Degree, alongside which I continued my role as Production Coordinator of the Queen Mary Theatre and Film Company, wrote TV scripts, directed my own plays and contributed scripted material for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I hosted radios shows on ‘Chat and Spin Radio’ and then ‘Quest Radio’, for which I would plan and organise my weekly slot in terms of content, themes, news, music and interviews, keeping up strategic organisation and a passionate work ethic. This comes easy to me due to my natural ability to stay calm and prioritise efficiently; and moreover, my passion for the production and entertainment more broadly. I’ve also worked with Mark McGann on the ‘Gadfly Project’, developing the play ‘Socrates’ into a short film and undertaking video and VFX editing, sound editing, camera assisting, floor running and directing. These and other workshop pursuits require location research, equipment organisation, costume sourcing, booking talent, call sheet production, script proofreading and read-through sessions.
I am compelled to expand on the horizons of these experiences under knowledgeable leadership and committed to giving my absolute best and I thank you for your consideration for this role.
