I am a highly experienced Series Producer, Producer/Director, and Edit Producer with a strong track record in factual and factual-entertainment television.

An accomplished storyteller with extensive experience both on location and in the edit, I can lead productions and teams, direct crews and high-profile talent, and confidently guide programmes through every stage of production, from development and preproduction to filming, post-production, and final delivery.

Strong storytelling is at the heart of everything I make. I have worked across a broad range of genres and subject matter, including observational documentaries, presenter-led programmes, archive-based productions and arts documentaries. I am skilled at identifying the characters, stories and moments that make compelling television, and adapting my approach to the particular demands, tone and audience of each production. Versatile and resourceful, I am equally comfortable directing crews and on-screen talent, leading production teams, producing complex location shoots and shaping stories in the edit. 

I have successfully negotiated access to environments ranging from shipyards, five-star hotels and hospitals to police forces and railway stations. I have won the trust of pop stars, artists and writers, while casting and working with compelling contributors from every walk of life. Strong people skills enable me to build productive working relationships with contributors, production teams and high-profile on-screen talent. Before working freelance, I spent ten years as a staff Producer/Director with ITV Tyne Tees, following several years as a qualified journalist and on-air reporter for BBC local radio.
