She has completed four dramatic screenplays along with numerous television spec scripts and in the fall of 2017 was a guest writer on CBC’s 22 Minutes. She has performed stand up professionally for fourteen years with Yuk Yuk’s across Canada, won the Phil Hartman Award for top student at Humber College where she graduated from the Comedy Writing and Performance program, and has a BFA in Theatre from Simon Fraser University. She is currently working on an hour-long drama about the United States adopting a one-child policy in the face of a water crisis; a story which could easily be adapted to take place in Europe. As well, she is putting the finishing touches on a sitcom about her many years in the retail industry.Julia has performed stand up, sketch and improv for over fourteen years. She has appeared numerous times at the SheDot Festival in Toronto, as well as the Ladies Are Funny Festival in Austin, Texas. In the fall of 2017 Julia was a guest writer on CBC’s 22 Minutes. Her material appeared in every episode (the staff writers claim this rarely ever happens!).Julia has acted in numerous music videos and commercials (usually with the description: quirky comedy-girl, it will involve throwing things in her face). She also appeared in an episode of CBC’s Workin’ Moms.In her free time, Julia enjoys traveling (mostly to places that require stomach medications), reading (she’ll wax poetically about the merits of the Public Library), and staring at the ocean - you know, all the things that are rife with comedy!?To see more, check out my website:www.julialol.com
