Originally from Ashington in Northumberland, I have enjoyed a successful career to date as an actress in various capacities. My speciality being in music theatre and stage, I am transitioning my career toward production management and believe this to be the perfect opportunity to progress this. My core strength is the ability to adapt to different situations quickly and achieve great results. I lived in Durban, South Africa, for 8 years where I gained the bulk of my professional theatre experience. I also had my daughter there and enjoyed a rich and varied life.Like most actors I had to supplement my earnings with other income and as a single parent it was more important than anything. Between rehearsals and performances with Kickstart Theatre Company on whichever production I was in at the time, I had other jobs. I was a swim coach for 5 years which I loved as it was a real achievement teaching such an important life skill. I was a personal trainer and class instructor, which allowed me to engage and relate to a cross section of people. I was a sales representative for a procurement company. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of making a sale to a client, the back and forth between quotations and orders, then finally delivering the newly branded products. I was a drama teacher for the last year living in Durban and found it extremely rewarding. I designed and structured the drama syllabus for the term, developed lesson plans, taught each lesson, assessed the students, then completed reports for each individual student per term. I was responsible for 250 students.Before moving to South Africa, I was part of the BT Research and Development team with Cragrats Theatre Company. I was responsible for producing new ideas based on relevant issues in the lives of young adults. We produced theatre in education productions for primary and secondary schools. I checked the factual accuracy of new storylines and presented new ideas to representatives from BT. I came up with creative ways to solve problems that would contribute to the smooth running of projects.I am proactive and not afraid of a challenge. I adapt well to new situations and always give it my all. I get excited about being busy at work and thrive under pressure. When I lived in Durban I often had two or three projects on the go at the same time. This combined with being a full time parent, made life a juggling act that I would never change. My organised nature and can-do attitude contribute to a productive work environment.I am a supportive team member and happy to work independently to achieve great results. I am friendly, creative, caring, and honest and above all I am a hard worker. I need an opportunity to show the skills I have and how I would be an asset to any team. Read Less
