All though these job roles have not been in my preferred working environment, I have always tried to excel at every challenge each of the jobs had presented, providing me with a wide scope of working experience over the years. I have gained many skills from this area of work, most importantly working with teams, task organisation, working autonomously, and working to deadlines while remaining customer focused.I decided to go back into education to attain the qualifications that will hopefully serve me well as a way to break into the area of film and television production. As a foundation, I had studied Humanities, consisting of English Literature, American and European Literature, and History. This foundation was of an immense advantage as the basis of my bachelor’s degree in Film, Radio, and Television. Here I have gained valuable experience and understanding of the film production process. The areas of speciality that I studied were in cinematography and editing. I have attained a good understanding of cameras, lighting, and composition from the cinematography practical and portfolio work. Editing theory has given me a broad understanding of the art of film from formalist and constructivist perspectives, and the practical work has provided me with the experience of working with AVID Media Composer software to put the theoretical framework into practice.
