Karen is a multi award winning writer and actor. She trained at RADA.
DRIP FEED Karen’s second play was shortlisted for the Verity Bargate Award and nominated for an Offie award for Best Performance Piece 2018 and a Dublin Fringe Award.
DRIP FEED has been script commissioned for television. Karen has eight original projects in formal development with television and film production companies.
Karen is writing on Series 2 of THE YOUNG OFFENDERS for BBC and has just completed her Channel 4Screenwriting 2019 drama script FLED.
Her first play THE HALF OF IT won The Stewart Parker Award and The First Fortnight Award. It was nominated for 5 Fringe Awards in 2017.Karen is on the 2019 Channel 4 ScreenWriting scheme and is on the final shortlist for BBC NI The Break 2019. She is the 2019 recipient of the Phelim Donlon Award and Bursary.Her work has been shortlisted for The Red Planet Prize, the BBC Writers Room Drama Room, The Adopt A Playwright Award and Fishamble’s ‘A Play For Ireland’ and supported by The Peggy Ramsay foundation.Karen is The Hospital Club’s Theatre Emerging Creative 2018/19 and the Arts Councils Next Generation Artist.Karen has spoken on panels at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh Festival, The Guilty Feminist and at RADA and written a comedy monologue for the Guilty Feminist.Karen’s plays are published by Nick Hern Books
