I have always loved storytelling and enjoy watching television, trying to work out the decisions behind the final product. This always inspires me with my own ideas, or inputs, and I want to learn how to develop these. As well as this, however, I want to learn about their entire process. I believe that I won’t be able to understand the industry until I know about all the elements involved in creating a production. I have been acting in local productions and completing Acting Grades for some time. With every production I do, whether solo of as a company, I like to get involved in the production process both on and off the stage. However, the infinite range of possibilities offered by film and television compared to the stage draws me to this industry in particular — it offers a much more extensive medium of expression.Experience in hospitality management allows me to work well in teams and with a wide range of people. I am also used to completing tasks independently and troubleshooting any hurdles I face, in order to find an efficient solution. I am used to coordinating between different departments in order to complete a common project. Experience in drama through, Acting qualifications, has helped me develop skills in staging and the beginnings of production. I bring a willingness to listen, learn and improve to any work environment. My passion for this industry, combined with quick-thinking and determination, makes me a valuable asset with a lot of potential. After hearing from a friend who worked on the Hobbit who told me that the glamour of multi-million dollar productions mainly involved sitting in the cold waiting to adjust a hobbit’s foot-wig; I don’t believe I have any unrealistic expectations of the industry but an still as determined as ever to be a part of it — even if it is just to adjust a foot-wig.
