I am also a qualified saxophonist, and have played professionally not only the saxophone, but also bagpipes, Irish whistles, piano, organ, etc. I regularly conduct ensembles, orchestras and even choirs in live performances of my works (of which over a hundred). In addition to composing original pieces, I am also proficient in arranging for different instruments.
Technically I am very well versed in the use of computer software packages for composition, editing and mixing (e.g. Cubase, Wavelab, Finale, Dorico and virtual libraries to a high-standard of proficiency) and can take care single-handedly of every aspect that goes from creating a piece to the final product to industry standards.
Although my musicianship is multi-faceted and sees me in a variety of roles, I am primarily a composer and, over the last 16 years, I have created and brought to completion musical scores and pieces in different genres across a diverse range of media. I have created and realised a number of music albums since 2004 (further details in my CV) and composed musical soundtracks for cinema, TV documentaries, commercials and other promotional platforms.
When producing music scores for film/TV I have also taken responsibility for assembling groups of musicians, rehearsing and recording the music according to the director's/client's requirements. This has included editing for the final visual sequence. As a professional I am equally happy to be part of a team where music can play an important role in mixed media projects.
I have recently moved to London, believing this to be a more fertile and rewarding environment for true creatives, and I am looking to establish new professional connections in the music world that will allow me to use of my skills and experience and to offer my services for collaborative work on new ventures.Enclosed with this letter is a copy of my CV so that you can see at a glance my background and development, and the broad range of musical work that I have created and successfully brought to completion. If my skills and experience are of interest to you, particularly with regard to any current or future projects, then I would welcome the opportunity to discuss my background and my ideas with you in greater detail.
