I'm really passionate about the idea of how images are able to tell stories. During the master in International Journalism at Cardiff University I learned how to create documentaries matching in depth research and good storytelling with an expert control over the filming equipment and the Creative Adobe Suite software, in particular Premiere Pro and the basics of After Effects. I went through all aspects of film production from production files, research, treatments, shooting, editing, managing budgets, shot lists, scouting locations, sourcing interviews, producing briefs, transcribing interviews and recognising the needs of different audiences and producing content accordingly. I also explored the ethical and practical aspect of being a foreign correspondent. As my current project, I’m researching for a documentary on housing emergency in Italy. I’ve researched and filmed a documentary on gambling addiction in Wales and the psychological consequences of the immigration detention centres for asylum seekers in UK.

I spent a semester at the Missouri School of Journalism, where I worked as assistant producer and staff writer for Global Journalist, a news site and radio show broadcasted on KBIA-FM in Columbia and focused on global news and journalism rights. Working under weekly deadlines, I had to report, write, plan, edit and produce content for the website, the radio program and the video platforms for both a domestic and an international audience. As an example of my work, I was involved in a show on China’s internet restrictions and the migrants’ issues in the Mediterranean.
I completed my bachelor in Humanities and a master degree in Modern Philology at Università Cattolica, where I graduated from with the maximum score in 2017 and two key transferable skills: knowing how to express original ideas with clarity, precision and accuracy, and the ability to ingest and summarise large amounts of content in very short amounts of time. One of my strengths is my historical, literary, text analysis and research expertise, gained during my first master degree in Modern Philology: I studied Latin, Literature, History, translated and analysed Middle Age Latin documents, conducted archive and historical research, and deeply philologically analysed old literary and historical texts. These courses gave me a deep understanding of the world in its historical, cultural, artistic and social landscape, and allowed me to develop a critical attitude to the world. I can manage large amount of content and understanding the priorities in the workload. I’m a good team player, I’m keen on working with resilience, respecting tight deadlines also under pressure. I’m able to learn quickly.
While studying, I’m also working on shifts for Good Morning Italia, a daily newsletter that covers both national and international news. Working under under tight deadlines by night I produce an up to date newsletter, ready every day at 7 am. I’m in charge of setting the agenda and writing the latest news in concise and precise manner.
I have an international background: I studied and worked in the US, in France and in the UK. I’m fluent in Italian, in English and in French. I’m ready to travel and to work anywhere in newsrooms or bureaus across the world. Being able to communicate in other languages allows me to access a wider variety of sources and to have a deeper understanding of events.
I worked in Paris at Cafébabel, a European magazine published in six languages: my duties involved editing, translating, writing articles on different subjects (politics, lifestyle, culture), managing the social media and the community of citizen journalists all over Europe.
