During the past 15 years I have practice and developed a wide range of electrical and other construction skills by helping to build and repair houses. I have maintained outdoor centres, helped to dock tourist boats in Brisbane, supported the Australian Paralympic Committee, maintained most types of motocross bikes and all sorts of other mechanical stuff, rounded up and cared for thousands of sheep, worked backstage in theatres, answered the phones on radio shows, managed cinema projection, worked on tv shows, run games and activities at children's camps, guided tourists round the islands in Thailand, helped to repair electrical damage in Christchurch after the 2011 earthquake and much more besides! I enjoy working in a team but also have the confidence, experience and ability to work independently. I believe I have excellent communication skills, I am regularly told I am very adaptable and flexible, I am naturally positive and enthusiastic and I am quite comfortable both leading and being led. Of greater importance to me is the fact that I set very high standards for myself. I am hard working, reliable and happy to roll up my sleeves. I am naturally polite and respectful of everyone with whom I work and I am very happy to do what must be done to achieve deadlines. I do not complain and I even like the odd crisis! I have also developed a passion for working outdoors and ideally would like to use my skills and experience in an environment which would afford me the opportunity to achieve something meaningful which would meet the needs and aspirations of my employer while at the same time allowing me to feel that I was making a positive difference in the environment in which I will be working.
