I was always writing books or up on stage as a child. I now focus on telling the truth of the world by making films and writing articles for online publications: because often the truth is far more interesting and extraordinary than fiction. My story:I completed a MRes in Environmental Research and realised no one would ever read my thesis and it would never make any difference - despite how much I believed in what it had to say and felt it important that the lessons taken from my research made some positive difference to the world.I had some camera and digital skills. So I decided to move into documentary to utilise my skills for and love of research and the environment, and help important messages of scientists and researchers reach the public and those in charge.I directed and produced my own documentary about plastic pollution, with a small team and a small budget over the course of a year. It was noticed at events, online and now at film festivals and launched my career - giving me the opportunity to work with documentary-makers and on corporate videos. Read Less
