My debut BBC R4 Drama, THE THINGS WE NEVER SAID, starring Lia Williams and Siân Phillips, won Best Radio Drama in the Writers' Guild Awards 2018; further work for BBC Radio 4 includes KIRA, UK première dramatisation of Viktor Nekrasov's Soviet novella, Kira Georgievna, starring Sharon Small (April 2023); comedy drama RIOT GIRLS: MALE ORDER (starring Belinda Lang and Carolyn Pickles), and a 2-part dramatisation of Han Suyin's semi-autobiographical novel A MANY-SPLENDOURED THING for TX November/December 2023.
I started my career in development, as Script Executive at Zenith Productions, where I worked across a slate of film and TV drama and script edited series such as HAMISH MACBETH (BBC), BODYGUARDS (ITV), and FIRM FRIENDS II (ITV). For Ecosse/BBC, I co-created the series McCREADY & DAUGHTER (starring Lorcan Cranitch & Patsy Palmer) and became a contract writer on EASTENDERS, where I worked on storylines including the domestic abuse of Little Mo Morgan and her trial for attempted murder. I subsequently wrote for CASUALTY, HEARTBEAT, and THE BILL.
Other credits include: short film BRITISH PEOPLE, part of THE UNCERTAIN KINGDOM (20 films about the UK in 2019), released 01/06/2020 on BFIPlayer, Amazon Prime, iTunes, Curzon Home Cinema & Google Play; site-specific live audio drama CITIZENS OF NOWHERE? for Chinese Arts Now/Beijing 707N Theatre, London Southbank Centre and Edinburgh Fringe, and commissions for Theatr Clwyd, Leeds Playhouse, LAMDA, and RADA. Based on my long-term experiences with my late mother, I created the blog '(Dementia Just Ain't) Sexy' and have written and spoken widely on this issue (outlets including BBC Woman's Hour, Victoria Derbyshire, The Guardian, The Times, and BBC Wales).
