With 25 years of experience as an award winning editor, I have enjoyed editing many genres including current affairs, documentary, obs docs, reality and factual entertainment.

Working on a variety of formats has enhanced my creativity and given me the skills to make an edit work, creating engaging television in any situation. I love the alchemy and magic of transforming rushes into dramatic narratives. My experience also gives me clarity and composure under pressure and I always try to keep a positive outlook.

Having spent the best part of a decade at the BBC, I was able to benefit from their world class training; including engineering and technology, graphics, video journalism and editorial policy.  This has rounded my experience and contributed to the respect I have as an editor for the amount of work that has already been undertaken on any project and the responsibility I feel as the person who is almost last in line to help make it shine.  

However, editing has always been my perfect job. I am especially passionate about making captivating character-based television and investigative documentary. Bringing to light the heart and unexpected side of a story in order to invoke emotion, empathy or to purely entertain an audience. I also thrive on the collaboration in the edit, I have an editorial eye and I’m good at interpreting remits.  I believe this is why I have been asked to shape numerous first episodes as well as new series’ and have often been a finishing editor.

In 2023, I edited Dispatches - Hospital Undercover: Are Our Wards Safe? Which won an RTS East Award for Best Current Affairs story. Read Less
