Nosa Igbinedion is an award winning British-Nigerian writer, director and Editor raised in South East London. After leaving an astrophysics degree to study film, his first self funded film won a BFM award in 2009 and gained him an internship at British film broadcaster, Film 4. In 2011, Nosa won a scholarship to ‘the Legacy Media Institute’ in Virginia founded by veteran American producer/Actor Tim Reid. In 2015 he was awarded 'Rising talent' in the Channel 4 and BBC sponsored Screen Nation Awards.His short films have played in notable film festivals around the world, including several stories from his African superhero film universe called 'Rise of the Orisha', which in 2015 went viral, garnering over a million views online and was featured on BBC Worldwide and numerous international publications such as national press in Brazil (O Globo) and Nigeria (The Guardian).Some of his past work includes The Hydra (Best Short at BFM awards), The Prayer (London Short Film Festival selected), Oya: Rise of the Orisha (Film Africa official selection) and Yemoja: Rise of the Orisha (African Movie Academy Awards Nominated).In 2017, Nosa won the best pitch at Raindance Film Festivals 'Live Ammunition' pitching competition, where he pitched a feature film he is developing called '1 Day in London'. The feature film script was selected for the NFTS Producers development course and was picked up by South African Production Company, Ergo films. As a freelance filmmaker, he has worked on films and commercial adverts for brands such as Sony, Microsoft, Martini, O2, and Bacardi that have been broadcast on television globally.
