Ian Rumsey has withdrawn from a senior role at Zinc Media to take the top job at his current employer ITN.

Currently ITN Productions chief executive officer, Rumsey will step up to the same role at ITN with incumbent Rachel Corp stepping down after more than 30 years with the company.

Rumsey had recently accepted the position of Zinc creative director. Stephen McQuillan, chief executive of Zinc label Atomic TV, has been given expanded creative responsibilities for the parent company until a successor is recruited

Rumsey joined ITN in 2005, holding stints including News at Ten programme editor and chief content officer. He has helped expand ITNP across documentary, factual entertainment, travelogues, access docs and live event programming, as well launching its digital vision.

Under his leadership, ITNP has secured commissions from Netflix (The Investigation of Lucy Letby) and Prime Video (The Confession) and produced Channel 5 daytime shows Jeremy Vine and Vanessa.

Rumsey said: “ITN is a remarkable organisation, full of outstanding people, world-class journalism and storytelling – but, most of all, a unique attitude and spirit. Like all media businesses, we face real challenges, but we also have huge opportunities and enormous potential ahead of us.

“Rachel has given an enormous amount to ITN over many years, both as chief executive officer and long before that, and she leaves with my friendship, admiration and thanks. I know everyone across the company will join me in wishing her every success for the future.”

Corp joined ITN as a trainee, rising to editor of ITV News London, 5 News and ITV News.

Since becoming chief executive officer four years ago, she led ITN’s transition from its news-led heritage to a forward-facing content provider, producing over 70 hours of live broadcast every week and reaching more than a billion digital views a month.

Corp, who was named a Business Women of the Year in 2025, will leave on 22 May.

“After a great deal of reflection, I have decided that the time is right for me to step down as chief executive officer and pursue new opportunities,” Corp said.

“ITN has been a huge part of my life and career for more than three decades, and it has been a privilege to work alongside so many talented colleagues. I am incredibly proud to have led ITN during such a critical period for public service journalism and trusted content in a rapidly changing industry.

“Ian knows and cares deeply about ITN, and I cannot think of a better person to lead the organisation forward. I am excited for what comes next, and I wish Ian and everyone at ITN every success for the future.”
