Behind the scenes, we’ve been busy working on the things that matter most to our community and pushing for real, positive change in the industry. And now we’ve got some good news to share on our progress.
Thanks to feedback from freelancers like you, we’ve made big improvements to how job posts are managed - helping companies stay more in touch with applicants.
The result? The number of people hearing back after applying for jobs has jumped from just 23% in 2024 to 41% in early 2025.
It’s a real shift in behaviour - and proof that small changes can make a big difference.
The new job dashboard and email templates help companies quickly see their progress through the application process at a glance.
Of course, we know there’s still a long way to go.
The numbers are moving in the right direction, but it’s not good enough yet. That’s why we're continuing to push for better - until fairer, more respectful communication becomes the norm, not the exception.
That’s just one part of what we’ve been up to:
- More networking events online so you can connect, share and get seen - including our last big networking event in May where over 300 freelancers attended with top production companies and recruiters also present.
- Webinars with industry insiders giving you access to the people still making brilliant TV - like our Masterclasses and CV Workshops with top talent managers.
- In person networking events - working with The Film and TV Charity and Bectu to provide a space for our community to meet in person.
Everything we do is shaped by what we hear from you - and we’re proud of the progress we’re making together.
