BBC Studios – Shooting Assistant Producer – Scam Interceptors

BBC Studios' Scam Interceptors is looking for an experienced Shooting Assistant Producer to join our Glasgow hub on a freelance basis.

The ideal candidate will be a confident self-shooter with strong editorial judgement, excellent contributor handling skills, and experience filming on location. You'll be supporting the producer/director in capturing compelling content, supporting investigations, and helping to tell powerful stories that expose scams and help protect the public. There may be times when you’re required to take place of the director so experience of leading shoots essential.

Key Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Shooting AP on factual or consumer programming
• Strong shooting and technical skills – comfortable rigging various types of cameras, sitting across audio feeds and solving
technical difficulties
• Sound editorial judgement and attention to detail
• Ability to organise, wrangle and safeguard rushes containing sensitive material
- Demonstrable high level of creativity - able to bring fresh new approach and bring out creative ideas in others. ·
- Oversee and where necessary, direct presenters and actuality
- An up-to-date knowledge of the BBC's diverse audiences and their needs and expectations and use this to shape creative
and engagement output
• The ability to problem -solve and suggest effective solutions
