DEVELOPMENT AP OR PRODUCER
Ranga Bee is looking for an experienced Development AP or Development Producer to join our award-winning Entertainment team. We're looking for someone with exceptional writing skills, a sharp editorial brain and a genuine talent for turning ideas into fully realised television formats.

We are looking for someone who loves TV, is brimming with ideas, knows their formats, and is experienced at the craft of development. You will be skilled in identifying weaknesses, solving problems, strengthening format mechanics and building ideas into coherent, pitchable propositions.

THE ROLE
You will work closely with the Development Executive and wider development team to create, develop and package original entertainment and factual entertainment formats for market.

You'll be great at coming up with original ideas, and also highly skilled at evolving projects from the earliest spark of an idea through to commissioner-ready pitch materials.

A significant part of the role will involve taking rough concepts, identifying what's missing, and helping transform them into robust formats with clear structure, jeopardy, scalability and commercial appeal.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Generating original ideas and contributing to development discussions.
Developing original entertainment, factual entertainment and reality formats.
Writing treatments, one-pagers, pitch decks and supporting materials.
Troubleshooting format weaknesses and identifying creative solutions.
Building out format mechanics, episode structures and series engines.
Helping shape ideas into coherent and commercially attractive propositions.
Working collaboratively with the development team to refine concepts.
Pitching ideas with confidence to the team.
Supporting commissioner meetings and pitch preparation.
Contributing to a positive, ambitious and collaborative development culture.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
A minimum of one year’s experience working in a TV development team.
Exceptional writing skills - a proven track record writing commissioner-ready treatments.
Strong editorial judgement and the ability to troubleshoot ideas.
Expert at building pitch materials and development documents.
The ability to turn broad concepts into clear, structured propositions.
Commercial awareness and an understanding of what broadcasters want.
A strong understanding of entertainment, reality and factual ent formats.
Someone who loves watching TV and is across cultural trends.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
A self-starter who takes initiative to support the senior team.
A collaborative approach to development.
A confident communicator brimming with ideas.
A hunger to see your ideas make it to screen.
A love of comedy and an understanding of Ranga Bee’s catalogue and tone.

CONTRACT
Initial 3 month contract with potential to extend. Development AP or Development Producer level, depending on experience. Covent Garden offices.
