Line Producer
Description
CTVC is looking for a Senior Production Manager or Line Producer to work on a new series of BBC Live Lessons.
The Line Producer plays a pivotal role in overseeing the planning and delivery of each production, ensuring logistical, financial, safety, and compliance standards are met while enabling creative teams to deliver exceptional content.
These will be 8 shows shot across the UK (some live and some pre-records)
This job will be based out of our Manchester office and is an office based role (4/1) with time spent on location in the Uk as required. You will be supported by a PC.
Start date is August 2026 until March 2027
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end production process for assigned Live Lessons, from pre-production through to post-delivery.
Develop detailed production schedules, call sheets, and workflows to support studio, location, and digital delivery.
Track and manage budgets, working with internal finance teams and the Prod Exec to ensure cost-effective delivery within allocation.
Source and contract crew, suppliers, and facilities, ensuring BBC procurement and fair trading guidelines are followed.
Ensure all contributors (including children, schools, and guest experts) are correctly briefed, consented, risk-assessed, and scheduled.
Oversee all compliance, insurance, rights, and safeguarding documentation for each production.
Ensure smooth and safe execution of live broadcasts, liaising with studio teams, tech managers, and presenters to troubleshoot any issues.
Coordinate with BBC Education to ensure assets are delivered and published correctly.
Drive sustainability practices in line with Albert and BBC environmental commitments.
Skills and Experience Required:
Proven experience as a Line Producer/Senior Production Manager on live or studio-based broadcast content.
Excellent organisational and logistical planning skills, with strong attention to detail and calmness under pressure.
Confident managing complex budgets and tracking
Up-to-date knowledge of BBC production systems, policies, and legal requirements (or equivalent broadcaster experience).
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across editorial, technical, and contributor-facing teams.
Demonstrated understanding of safeguarding when working with children in an educational context.
Experience in coordinating technical operations including studio setups, OBs, or remote delivery workflows.
Desirable:
Previous experience on educational or children’s programming (e.g. BBC Teach, CBBC, Bitesize).
Familiarity with BBC systems (e.g. Silvermouse)
Albert carbon literacy certificate.
