BBC Radio Wales are looking for a telephone answerer for the Late Show Monday to Thursday at the BBC Radio Studios based in Wrexham University.

Do you love radio? Do you love talking to people? We’re looking for new team members to join our production team in Wrexham, working on Eleri Sion’s Late Show on BBC Radio Wales.
Eleri keeps listeners company Monday to Thursday, 10pm–Midnight, on BBC Radio Wales and BBC Sounds — with great music, lively chat, fun games and music quizzes enjoyed by audiences across the country.
We’re now looking for a team of Telephone Answerers to support the show from our production base at the Radio Studios in the University Building, Wrexham. Applicants must live within commuting distance of the Wrexham site.
In this role, you’ll work closely with the production team to answer calls from listeners, take their messages, and prepare them for live broadcast. It’s a fantastic opportunity for anyone who loves radio and enjoys chatting to people.
Because the show broadcasts late at night, a flexible approach to working hours is essential.
Essential Requirement – Driving/Commuting
Applicants need to be based within a commuting distance of the University Building
Main Responsibilities
· Supporting the production team in studio
· Answering the phones to our nightly callers
· Assisting and supporting programme features
Desired (but not essential) criteria
· Interest or Experience working on Radio programmes
· Experience working in a production office
· Experience dealing with contributors, talent and members of the public
· Familiarity with broadcast technical equipment

We plan to invite shortlisted applicants to an evening event during the week commencing Monday 20 April 2026 at the Radio Wales offices at Wrexham University. This will be an opportunity to meet the team and learn more about Radio Wales.
Final selection will take place during these sessions.
