PD (Self Shooting)

    Windfall Films are looking for a Mandarin speaking Shooting PD to join our team on a high-end archaeology documentary series for National Geographic. The series will follow archaeologists in China on their new excavations this season.

    The role will involve self-shooting actuality (1st camera with sound) on active archaeological sites in China, capturing discoveries as they unfold, as well as shooting produced segments with archaeologists and historians. Experience self-shooting factual history / archaeology / science documentaries essential. The Shooting PD will be working with an AP / DV Director on location.

    The ideal candidate will have excellent editorial judgement and be able to react calmly as actuality unfolds on location, as well as bring a positive attitude, show cultural sensitivity, and have an interest in Chinese history (our topics cover 1700 BCE-1500 CE).

    Exact dates are TBC between April-June 2026, with further details to be discussed at interview. Each shoot in China will be between 1 and 3 weeks long.
