I am looking for a new Head of Technical Operations to join our company Moonshine Film.
At its core, the role involves full responsibility for equipment maintenance, overseeing rentals & owning the art of client communication within that department. Speaking to clients, understanding their needs quickly, advising them properly, and converting enquiries into confirmed bookings.
You would be guided closely by our COO until you display proficiency in managing the department on your own.
This role also heavily involves developing your on-set attributes as a camera assistant, camera operator, drone pilot, and hopefully DOP in the future. We focus on wet hire, so you will be required to go on set regularly.
This is a live-in opportunity based in a nice apartment in Millbank (SW1), featuring a sauna, gym, and underground parking. We run the business from here and have a bedroom available; I am looking for someone prepared to move in with us to cover office responsibilities.
• Starting Salary: Approx. £1,600 per month (Retainer).
• On-Set Rates: An additional £70–£190+ per day depending on your role.
• Growth: Opportunities to increase income through consistent work, entrepreneurial initiative, and eventually direct commission on rentals.
• Flexibility: Hours are ad hoc. We don’t heavily police your time as long as you have an internal locus of control, follow systems religiously, and get the job done proactively.
We need someone meticulous and detail-oriented. We follow strict systems for following insurance, sign-off protocols, and deadlines. If you struggle with order, discipline, or punctuality, this role will not be a fit.
We are currently at 10–20% capacity and aiming for significant scale. As a popular DOP, my goal is to eventually pass more on-set work to someone I can trust to represent the brand properly.
