Story Producer
Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Common Story is looking for a Story Producer to lead on a new, lightly formatted, factual-entertainment series for CBeebies. The series explores children’s relationship with food through sensory experiences, play and curiosity, and is designed to be engaging for a 3–6-year-old audience.
The Story Producer must have experience working with 3–6-year-olds and a genuine understanding of what makes this audience engage. We welcome experience working with children outside the world of TV, but you must be passionate about children’s content and have a strong understanding of how to build child-led storytelling frameworks. Some understanding of children’s relationship with food is beneficial.
Working closely with the Series Producer and Director, you will enjoy the challenge of leading on shaping and writing the scripts for the series, always placing children at the heart of the storytelling. You will have a strong understanding of how children construct and engage with stories - knowing how to draw them in and sustain their interest - by creating narratives that allow the contributors to immerse themselves in rich, sensory experiences around food. Working closely with the Series Producer and Director, you will ensure stories are well structured, editorially sound, and translate effectively to screen.
Organised and collaborative, you’ll provide strong editorial support both in the office and on location, while keeping the children’s experience at the heart of the process.
ABOUT COMMON STORY
We are a next-generation storytelling company and creative community, born from the belief that stories can change hearts, minds, and futures. At a time when many children feel unheard, unseen and written off, Common Story creates bold, human-centered narratives that restore hope, ambition and belonging - and remind children and young people of who they are and what they could be.
Rooted in the West Midlands and built for scale, we fuse world-class storytelling with community-led IP and emerging technologies to amplify voices too often ignored by traditional media and broken systems. We set the agenda - and make space for stories that hit harder, reach further and create a lasting impact.
Provisional start date 6th April for 15 weeks. This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of three days per week based in our Leamington Spa office. Location filming will take place in the West Midlands.
