    Ready to gain hands-on experience in TV? Support leading producers in this entry-level role, where you'll oversee daily office operations & get insight into productions.

    Voltage TV is an award-winning production company with a proven track record for creating bold, innovative and ground-breaking factual television, and are passionate about making shows that offer viewers a fresh perspective.

    As an office assistant, you will play an important role in the general day-to-day running of the office, including opening the office first thing in the morning, answering the office phone and welcoming guests.

    This is an exciting chance to learn about TV production through hands-on experience; there will be plenty of opportunities to support productions and development with research, act as runner on shoots and post-production support including time coding and logging. You will get a real inside look at how TV is made and is a great entry into the TV industry.

    Please note this is a 4 days per week position from Monday – Thursday.

    Key activities

    Team support
    • Assisting both in-office and remote teams.
    • Setting up and supporting new starters.
    • Managing the company email inbox and office phone.
    • Distribute mail and deliveries around the office.

    Social
    • Look after website and social media accounts.
    • Helping to organise the Christmas party and other social events including new programme screenings.
    • Helping to provide a great office community; for example, writing monthly newsletters, keeping tabs on people's birthdays in order to circulate cards, etc. You get to have some fun with this and be really creative in your contribution.

    Facilities coordination
    • Meeting room management, including booking and upkeep.
    • Maintaining the office desk plan and weekly scheduling.
    • Managing overall office supplies (supermarket, stationery, ink cartridges) and managing petty cash to cover these.
    • Book taxis / couriers as required.
    • Management of internal kit, such as cameras and laptops.
    • Manage and log all drives and LTOs (data storage) that come in and out of the office.
    • Keep the office well stocked with tea, coffee, snacks, and water etc.

    Office maintenance
    • General maintenance, repairs, and addressing tech issues.
    • Coordinating with handyman, plumber, maintenance services and our IT company.
    • Liaising with cleaners and pest control.

    Health and safety
    • Arranging screen risers, wrist supports, access to first aid kit.
    • Check and maintain the fire alarm.

    What we're looking for
    • Someone who is interested in TV production and keen to join the industry.
    • Confidence on the phone and when speaking to guests arriving at the office.
    • Good written skills.
    • Organisational and time management skills.
    • Someone who shows initiative.
    • Computer literate especially on PC and Mac.
    • Enthusiasm and a willingness to give things a go!

    Desirable but not essential
    • Knowledge of social media and website management.
    • Some technical ability: including editing videos, and camera maintenance (C300, FX6, GoPros, etc).

    It is key that you can work as part of a team as a large part of the role is working with the different production teams with whatever they may need help with. Therefore, flexibility and time management are a must! You will also be managing lots of tasks at once, so being able to work quickly, effectively and prioritise tasks is essential.
