We are looking for a Series Producer for our specialist factual department which is responsible for series including BBC Two's Civilisations:Rise and Fall; Inside Our ADHD/Inside Our Dyslexic Minds and Disaster at Sea:The Piper Alpha Story.
We are looking for a highly creative and experienced Series Producer to lead on an exciting new, premium 2x 60’ landmark series (Note: this role is subject to greenlight). This series is for an international broadcaster and global distribution, that has a focus on the natural world and combines observational documentary with cinematic visuals.
The right candidate will be a respected and organised non-fiction storyteller with a proven ability to build dramatic, emotionally engaging, multilayered character stories.
They will be an inspiring, considerate, and responsible team leader. The role will include oversight of every stage of the production process, including research and pre-production, location filming and post-production.

Your responsibilities and impact:
• Oversight of all production processes on a day-to-day basis and lead a team to deliver a premium two-part series that meets the stated editorial aims.
• Establish and maintain relationships: Manage strong working relationships across entire team including stakeholders and build and maintain trust with a wide and varied range of contributors.
• Team Management: Demonstrate great communication skills and successfully lead and manage a large team, including Series Director, Story Producer, Line Producer, Assistant Producer and Researcher, at London-based office and overseeing large, complex international shoots and crews.
• Responsibility for the construction, oversight and careful management of a full production schedule and budget in conjunction with the Production Management team.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all filming activities comply with safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Essential criteria:
• Proven ability of series producing on high profile/premium docuseries.
• Proven ability to be a collaborative and organised leader of large teams and complex productions.
• An exceptional storyteller with outstanding editorial judgement and a track record of delivering a long form continuing narrative that spans over multiple parts.
• Proven ability to set vision, lead and motivate the team, ensuring that the creative for the series is communicated and understood.
• Can work directly and confidently to key, senior stakeholders and commissioners and manage compliance and legal responsibilities.
• Experience filming in remote and challenging areas.
Desired but not required:
• Brazilian Portuguese
