Senior Edit Assistant

    Senior Edit Assistant:
    This is a senior-level position, requiring strong technical knowledge and the ability to take ownership of projects. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently but also contribute to the department as a whole by supporting the team in delivering high-quality post-production services.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Transcoding media for offline edit operations
    Preparing media for editing in both Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere. Including sound sync, sync maps, stringouts and multicam groups to a high degree of accuracy.
    Preparing conforms in DaVinci Resolve for grade and online.
    Supporting and troubleshooting the offline and online edit suites with issues, raising them to engineering as needed.
    Creating turnovers from locked edits, including EDLs, AAFs, and VFX pulls in EXR.
    Final mastering and delivery of content across international broadcasters, streaming services, and theatres.
    Creating ProRes masters, AS-11s, IMF packages, DCPs
    Review and correct QC results to ensure all deliverables meet client, broadcaster, and platform specifications.
    Ensure upmost quality and attention to detail across all tasks.
    Contribute to departmental training and process documentation.

    Required Qualifications:
    2+ years of experience in post-production operations.
    Proven experience with DaVinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer, and Adobe suite.
    Strong technical knowledge of broadcast and streaming specifications, file formats, codecs, colour spaces, and metadata requirements.
    Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience using MTI Cortex to create DCPs
    Ingest of tape based sources and experience using VTRs
    Data I/O operations, using Aspera and MediaShuttle
    Knowledge of Stereo 3D pipelines

    The role will involve working as part of a small team, so candidates should be prepared to take ownership of their role and contribute to the growth and development of the department as appropriate. This includes being pro-active in their learning and development and attend relevant training to ensure duties are performed efficiently.

    Shift work will be required as part of the role.
