About the Role:
DASH Pictures is seeking a highly organised, creative and technically skilled Camera Operator / Camera & Social Media Assistant / Kit Manager to join our production team. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives in both technical and creative environments, balancing on-set camera work, equipment management and engaging social media content creation.
You’ll support productions as a Camera Operator and Camera Assistant, maintain our camera and lighting kit and collaborate on short-form social content across various platforms. This role requires a proactive team player with a strong eye for detail and a solid technical foundation in modern camera systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Camera & kit management
- Oversee all in-house camera, lighting and grip equipment.
- Maintain, test and log equipment to ensure everything is shoot-ready.
- Manage kit bookings, check-in/out and coordinate repairs or replacements.
- Track consumables and maintain accurate inventory records.
Camera Operator & Camera Assistant Duties:
- Operate B/C/ BTS camera as required.
- Assist with camera builds, lens changes and technical setup on set.
- Support the DP on location.
- Handle data wrangling and backups following industry best practices.
- Contribute to camera tests, look development and prep days.
Social Media Assistant:
- Shoot and edit short-form content for social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
- Capture behind-the-scenes content during productions.
- Assist with planning creative ideas for digital and social campaigns.
- Ensure all content meets brand guidelines and platform-specific standards.
About You:
- Personable, approachable and confident working with a variety of teams.
- Highly organised, detail-driven and proactive in problem-solving.
- Confident shooter with strong technical capabilities.
- Proficient with major camera systems (ARRI, Sony, Canon, Blackmagic, etc.)
- Knowledgeable in DIT workflows, data management and basic editing tools.
- Understanding of social media trends and best practices for short-form content.
- Able to troubleshoot quickly and remain calm under pressure.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced creative environment.
Requirements:
- 2+ years’ experience as a camera operator, camera assistant, kit manager, content creator, or similar role (freelance or in-house).
- Ability to confidently shoot, light, and edit.
- Understanding of broadcast standards and best practices for major online video platforms including YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.Company Name
