Art Department Assistant
Description
Shine TV is looking for an experienced Midlands based Art Assistant from 7th April through to the end of July 2025 for MasterChef which has relocated to a brand new studio in Birmingham. The candidate must have previous experience as an Art Assistant or in an Art Department position on a fast moving production and have an interest in Art & Design, studio experience is particularly desired. The skills list for this role include:
Applicants must fulfil the following criteria:
• Coping well under pressure
• Standby experience preferable
• Fast pace of working
• Creative eye
• Highly organised
• Practical
• Attention to detail
• Cleaning skills (this is a lot of the job)
• Be able to multitask and meet tight deadlines
• Understands studio and location environments
• Sourcing and purchasing materials
• Set dressing and buying experience
• Graphics experience using adobe software
• Time management skills
• Live within 1 hour of the studio in Digbeth due to early starts & late finishes
The following specific skills are also desirable:
• DIY skills (using tools such as a sander, stapler, drill, glue gun etc)
• Vinyling
• Painting
• Sewing
Please state in your cover letter where you are based, the role will be based in Birmingham and candidates should live within one hour of our studio in Digbeth. Any locations more than 1 hour from our studio will not be considered.
