Fake Friend: The Ticket Scammer - Masterclass with Director Carlo Mole and Producer Lorraine Evans -  Wednesday 14 January 2026

Join director Carlo Mole & senior producer Lorraine Evans for an exclusive deep-dive into the making of Fake Friend: The Ticket Scammer (BBC Three / Spun Gold / Method in Motion), the gripping investigation into how 28-year-old Miles Hart from Somerset charmed his way into the confidence of friends, colleagues, and industry insiders to orchestrate over a million pounds’ worth of fraudulent ticket deals.

The project began back in October 2024, when Matt Taylor from Method in Motion first approached Spun Gold and Exec Producer Sarah Trigg with a story for a BBC Three / Current Affairs regional pitching opportunity, aimed at Midlands-based companies. Supported by Create Central and Creative UK, they began developing the concept together, shaping and refining it over the following six months. After a long period of development and collaboration, the project finally received the green light, through commissioner Mark Harrison.

Carlo & Lorraine will take attendees inside the production of this high-stakes, legally complex documentary from building the investigation and securing crucial evidence, to directing master interviews, reconstructions, and ObDoc sequences. He’ll unpack the editorial, legal and compliance challenges of working on a live legal case, alongside the duty-of-care considerations that shaped the filmmaking process.

The webinar is followed by 1:1 networking for PRO members, with Carlo and Lorraine joining too.
