Transitioning From Non-scripted to Scripted Development.

Having worked my way up to researcher level in non-scripted development I am now trying to break into scripted development after putting my ambitions on hold due to the pandemic. However I am now worried about being pigeon holed. I am lucky enough to actually have a little experience in scripted development, but I still I don't seem to be getting anywhere. Would anyone happen to have any advice at all on how I can get get the ball rolling again?
