Shadowing a Director/Photography Director in Bristol/South West/ London

I am looking for someone friendly who likes teaching and who would be keen to take me with her/him on location.
I am very interested in learning more about directing as this is the path I would like to follow.
What do you reckon would be the best way to get something like this?
