Intelligent Creativity it is a course run by Erica Wolfe-Murray, aimed at small South West creative businesses of all types, to help look at work practices and see how they can drive more opportunities and revenue from what they already do. It takes place in Bristol over two afternoons as a group, with a further individual company one to one.
For a bit more info, read on or find out how to apply via the full course page on Creative England's website.
What is Intelligent Creativity?
It’s a way to win new business by exploiting the services, products or knowledge you’ve already created. That means identifying where the real value lies in the work you’ve previously produced and finding new ways to exploit it and sell it again. It’s an intelligent way to cut down costs and maximise revenues.
What isn’t it?
It doesn’t mean selling exactly the same thing to someone different (although it might). More often, it means understanding which elements of previous productions might interest different customers.
Practically it’s about asking yourself:
• What assets have you got which other people might want to pay for?
• Are there new revenue channels you haven’t discovered?
• Do you have any intellectual property which you’re not exploiting?
Over the course of two half-day sessions, Intelligent Creativity will take you out of your existing space to view your company from a very different perspective. You’ll look at how and where you currently earn your revenues. You’ll explore how you evolve business and manage projects. Practices will be unpicked and scrutinised to assess where there could be exciting opportunities.
Workshop one: 2nd October, 2pm – 6.30pm
Workshop two: 16th October, 2pm -6.30pm
One-to-one session (three hours) to take place at a time of your convenience within a month of the final session.
All workshops will be held at Creative England, 2nd Floor College House, 32-36 College Green, Bristol, BS1 5SP
Who is it for?
If you are the owner or company director of a micro or small business involved in a creative activity whether it is:
a) a consultancy selling your design, production, advice or media services to a client
b) an actual ‘producer’ of a creative product, sold either by yourself or under license, such as tv programming, product design, app design, gaming, e-products and so on…
…then Intelligent Creativity is for you!
