ITV has handed execs Katie Rawcliffe and Craig Morris expanded remits after its reality and acquisitions chief Paul Mortimer announced his exit.

Rawcliffe steps up from head of entertainment commissioning to director of entertainment, reality and daytime next month. Reality commissioning editor Amanda Stavri, who looks after both Love Island and The Only Way is Essex, joins her team.

Meanwhile, Morris, who is currently managing editor, channels and ITVX, becomes director of channels, ITVX and acquisitions.

Mortimer began his career at ITV Network Centre in 1994 and worked for Discovery Channel and Channel 5 before a five-year stint as head of E4.

He rejoined ITV in 2012 as controller of digital channels, rising to head of digital channels and acquisitions in 2016 and director of reality and acquisitions in 2022.

In that time, he oversaw shows such as Love Island and spin-off Love Island All-Stars [pictured], Big Brother, The Real Housewives of Cheshire, Fortune Hotel and My Mum, Your Dad and international dramas acquired for the ITVX platform.

“I arrived with a mission to improve ratings amongst younger audiences and Love Island was a huge part of that,” said Mortimer.

“I’m therefore very pleased to see it still going strong- with the latest series growing its audience year on year. More recently, with a talented team of reality commissioners, we’ve landed some big hits on ITV1, ITV2 and ITVX with more coming down the line.”

ITV is currently recruiting for a head of acquisitions to replace Sasha Breslau, who recently joined Warner Bros Discovery to head up acquisitions for HBO Max in the UK and Ireland.
