Starting out in TV isn't easy for anyone and shockingly this is even true for Mark Downie. After writing letters to various TV Companies he recieved just one response, but this was all he needed. Work experience with the former Director of Diversity at C4 Stuart Cosgrove in his then small production company lead to a full time role at BBC and he hasn't been out of work since. 

Even in this senior position at Maverick, he's still figuring out his own role but so far judges that it is about knowing the best people and bringing them in to work for you, and creating a positive, energetic and innovative atmosphere.
