The BBC has hired Channel 4’s fact ent commissioner Cal Turner and promoted Bristol-based commissioning executive Jasmyn McGuile.

Former Naked head of fact Turner joins the BBC after almost two years at C4, where she co-commissioned Studio Lambert’s Rise & Fall and oversaw How to Survive a Dictator with Munya Chawawa.

Her previous BBC credits include Maestro at the Opera, Freaky Eaters and The Apprentice: You’re Fired.

McGuile has been a commissioning executive for the BBC since 2022, working on the likes of Dubai Hustle, The Hungry Bikers: Coming Home For Christmas and The Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Staying in Bristol, she will continue her commissioning relationship with the Hairy Bikers while overseeing returners I Kissed a Girl, Countryfile and DIY SOS. She has previously worked at Wall to Wall, Firecracker and RDF West.

Both commissioners will report to BBC head of commissioning, factual entertainment and events Catherine Catton.
