Deal Or No Deal is the latest entertainment format to be revived – with ITV ordering a new version of the former Channel 4 hit.

Stephen Mulhern is to host the Remarkable Entertainment series, which was previously fronted by Noel Edmonds over more than 3,000 episodes throughout an 11-year run on daytime C4, ending in 2016.

Remarkable’s joint managing directors Tamara Gilder and Cat Lawson are executive producing the series, which keeps the original format including the unseen ‘Banker’  who tempts contestants with promises of large cash prizes.

Unlike C4’s version of the Dutch format, ITV’s version will not be filmed in Bristol, though the broadcaster has yet to confirm where it will be shot.

ITV has already picked up fellow Banijay format Big Brother, which is being produced by Initial and is set to air on ITV2 later this year.

Remarkable, meanwhile, is behind the BBC’s upcoming revival of reality format Survivor.

ITV head of entertainment commissioning Katie Rawcliffe described Deal Or No Deal as an “iconic” format.

“Stephen's infectious warmth and wit mixed with his natural rapport with members of the public is the perfect combination for this much-loved TV series," she said.
