Passion Pictures has formally separated its unscripted and animation arms into two separate production businesses.
Following a corporate demerger, the group’s unscripted television and documentary businesses will trade as Passion, which comprises sub-labels Passion Documentaries, Passion Planet and Keo Films.
Passion’s animation and commercials operations will continue as Passion Pictures Animation.
Each will be independently managed, with the live action business co-chaired by Andrew Ruhemann and Nick Southgate.
Passion Pictures said in a statement: “After 40 years of building exceptional creative businesses, this next chapter gives both companies the independence to shape their own futures.”
Passion’s recent documentary productions include Channel 4 two-parter See No Evil [main picture]; DC/Warner Bros Discovery feature doc Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story; and Hulu/Disey+ series Devil in the Family: The Fall of Ruby Franke.
Passion Pictures Animation operates out of London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles and Barcelona and its productions include Netflix’s Love, Death and Robots and Apple TV’s Not a Box.
Passion said it did not anticipate any changes to its existing client relationships or ongoing productions following the demerger.
