Senior Edit Assistant

    We are looking for a Senior Edit Assistant to join their small, spirited in-house post team.

    We are innovators within the natural history genre and are creating high-end content, exclusively for Netflix. They pride themselves on pioneering production & post workflows, and are looking for enthusiastic forward-thinkers with a wealth of post experience to join their expanding department.

    The WSP office is kitted out with top-of-the-range equipment and exciting tech. There are currently two Avid pre-edit suites, a fleet of Avid logging/viewing computers and powerful processing stations. Veteran Bristol post vendors facilitate their offline edits and final post.

    WSP champions career development and endeavors to offer additional training and practical experience.

    The role is office-based, with scope for occasional remote working, and operates on a shift basis. The contract period is long but exact details are TBC.

    Main Tasks & Responsibilities
    + Developing and managing UHD/HDR DaVinci Resolve & Avid workflows, including ACES colour pipelines
    + Staying abreast of new technological developments and deploying them
    + Assisting the Head of Post with their internal scheduling system, Farmers Wife
    + Avid offline pregrades and DaVinci Resolve conforms
    + Training junior EAs and keeping training materials up-to-date
    + DaVinci Resolve ingest (including Red, Inspire drone, GoPro and more)
    + Avid project and database management
    + Technical support and troubleshooting (Mac and PC)
    + Monitoring Avid Nexis and GPLab Echo network storage systems
    + Data management, including verified offloading/backing-up and LTO archiving via Storage DNA
    + Communicating with internal WSP teams and external post vendors, updating them with the status of bookings

    Skills, Ability & Experience
    Essential
    + A minimum of 3 years’ experience working within post-production environments
    + Excellent knowledge of UHD+ technologies, resolutions, colour spaces, codecs and formats
    + Extensive knowledge of DaVinci Resolve and Avid Media Composer
    + Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
    + Great knowledge of location offloading/DIT practises, including checksum verification
    + Great knowledge of general IT (Mac and PC)
    + Good knowledge of colour pipelines (ACES training will be given)
    + Experience working across multiple productions
    Desirable
    + Experience in natural history
    + Experience with UHD delivery
    + Experience using Adobe Premiere & Photoshop, ShotPut Pro, Hedge, Silverstack, Colorfront Transkoder, StorageDNA, CatDV, Aspera
    + Experience working with Netflix platforms: Content Hub, Pix, Moxion, VanDam
