Technical Edit Assistant (Could lead to permanent role)

    Technical Edit Assistant working across multiple cycling documentaries.

    This is a full time role and will be based in our Office in central Bath (Will include some working from home).
    Candidates need to be available in April.

    The purpose of this role is to assist the Post Production Operations Coordinator with managing delivery of video assets on a monthly basis. The Technical Edit Assistant is integral for facilitating delivery of assets ranging from app deliverables, to trailers, to subtitled assets. A good technical background is essential.

    This position would suit someone with a keen interest in workflows supported by creative technology looking to go down a technical operations route rather than an editorial video production career.

    The Role:

    Ingesting footage to be stored on the Editshare server
    Renaming rushes using the naming convention & creating proxies
    Implementation of QC Fixes post Ext QC & creation of deliverables
    Management of projects onto our server and harddrives for editors
    Providing documentary deliverables to the Post Production Operations Coordinator for final review
    General upkeep of VOD on GDrive and DocExports on Editshare.
    Checking subtitles against in-house specifications
    Providing BITC and Mixed steams for subtitle and trailer creation creation
    Changing any internally created subtitles into SRT files
    Ensuring that trailers are linked and exported for use across socials and our mobile app
    Skills, knowledge and experience:

    Good knowledge and experience of using codecs, formats, coding profiles and technical video specifications
    Experience using Google Drive and Editshare
    In-house technical edit assistant experience - this role will be focused on the technical aspects of edits, rather than focusing on being an editorial position
    Ideally, you’ll have experience in a start-up environment that has evolving needs
