We are looking for a Lead PD – ASAP, with slots until mid November.
As the Lead PD, you will be responsible for: recceing with a journey planner and bushcraft expert, scripting content, directing teams in the field including the occassional multicam set piece, running contributor relations and performance and being responsible for editorial. You will also play a key role to ensure that timelines are met and to agreed artistic and technical standards.
Each episode requires:
Remote preproduction before recce
One week recce (location)
Remote reproduction before shoot
Two weeks shoot (location, including a few days preprep and travel)
For this role, you must have proven experience working in adventure/survival television, for international broadcasters, ideally for the likes of Discovery. Specialist in fact ent and documentary. Training in health and safety for extreme location filming is a distinct advantage.
It’s a fun but challenging shoot with multiple moving parts so you must be a team player happy to give briefs, ensure the shoot runs well with strong organizational and time management skills. You should be an experienced industry practitioner, who has worked in variety of roles, such as producer, writer, director, or script editor. You’ll need to be fit and it is advised that for this position you may be required to undergo a full physical check-up prior to being offered the role.
